Premier Nursing opened in Autumn 2006. The purpose of the agency is to provide a comprehensive, personal private nursing and care service for the community surrounding Arundel, West Sussex.

  • What are the advantages of having a local agency?

24-hour live-in care is available in West Sussex and Hampshire. Premier Nursing can offer a more personalised service, matching the carers to clients on an individual basis. We are able to visit outlying areas as well as local towns and villages within an approximate twenty-mile radius from Arundel, West Sussex.

  • What range of services do you offer?

Premier Nursing offers a wide and varied range of care and support according to your needs, priorities and preferences. You may want personal care, such as help getting out of bed, washing, and dressing. We can help with these tasks making sure that you stay safe and well. Our carers and nurses will help you maintain your privacy and dignity and remain as independent as possible in your own home. You may want care for a loved one to allow you to have some respite for a few hours a day.

If you have more complex needs our registered nurses can provide a wide range of general and specialist nursing care.

You could simply want companionship, someone to take you out on trips or to see friends. You may want some practical support such as light housekeeping or your meals prepared, assistance with medication, help with shopping, laundry, taking to appointments and driving. Premier Nursing staff can assist with all these tasks.

  • How do I start?

Contact Premier Nursing by phone, e-mail or dropping into the office and we can talk about what your needs are and the ways we can help you.

  • Does your agency offer an initial visit and assessment of potential clients?

Yes, once you have decided to use our services, we will organise a day and time that suits you when our specialist Registered Nurse can come and visit you in your home in order to make a full assessment of your requirements.  A Care Plan is discussed and agreed with you and your family, specifically addressing your wants and needs. We also do a risk assessment of your home to ensure that you and the carers are always safe when at your house.  We will ask to look at bathrooms, and any mobility equipment to assess if it is adequate to meet your needs. The Care Plan is left with you for the carers to use and make notes in after each visit.

  • What happens if my needs change?

If your needs change then Premier Nursing will organise to undertake a re-assessment to review your care plan with you and your family. We will always ensure that you are provided with a service that suits your needs and desired outcomes.

If there are no changes then your care package will automatically be reviewed on an annual basis.

  • What is a Holistic approach to my care?

An holistic approach is where we consider all of your needs when making an assessment. These could be personal, social, psychological, physical, emotional, or spiritual. We will work with you to help you overcome any problems you may have, and to enable you to maintain your independence and to remain in your own home.

  • Are your carers and nurses interviewed and references checked?

Yes. Before Premier Nursing employs any nurse or carer they are taken through a rigorous interview and assessment process. At least two different references are taken up, a DBS Disclosure and Barring Scheme (previously called Criminal Records Bureau) check undertaken, and a written health check obtained.

  • Can I expect the same care worker all the time?

Yes, you can expect the same team of care workers one of whom will be the lead carer. However, each staff member is entitled to holidays and days off, so changes are inevitable, but we do keep the number of people to an absolute minimum.

  • Can I expect the care worker to arrive at the agreed time?

Yes, our carers make every effort to arrive at the appointed time. However, there are times that they might get delayed by traffic or a previous client and may arrive later than expected. In most cases you will be given a call by the Manager to explain any delay.

  • What happens if I am not satisfied with the nurse or carer supplied?

If for any reason you are not totally satisfied with the member of staff that is providing care or support to you, then Premier Nursing will find a suitable replacement, providing we are given up to 24 hours notice.

If you continue to be unhappy with your care worker you must contact the office, explain the reasons why you are not happy and we would also ask you to complete the complaints form that is in your Care Plan.

  • How much does the service cost?

We will be able to discuss and agree costs with you before your care begins.

  • How do I pay?

Premier Nursing sends invoices out either once a week or once every four weeks. You can pay for your care by cheque, by credit or debit card or by making an online banking payment to our account.
